Papers were all signed up on July 10th, 2009.
We have been waiting somewhat impatiently for word on when our pile of dirt will start to transform into something that more resembles a home. Over the last 2 months the only changes we saw on our dirt was; we acquired a used and damaged computer chair, the dirt from our neighbours house was neatly stacked into a pile onto our lot, neighbours dirt was then removed from our lot, we have 12 pails of "something" sitting in our front yard from the neighbours development, & they put more dirt onto the green park space directly in front of our lot.
Well after all this time we finally are getting things moving! We officially got our blueprints in and signed off last week, which means they are sitting comfortably in the hands of the contractors who will be building our house. 1st task is for them to set an appointment to grade and stake our dirt pile, then the digging shall commence! YAY!!!!
We should see some signs of movement within the first week of October!
We have also been to the design centre and picked out a plethora of upgrades and colors we want in the new house.. We may have gone slightly overboard but hoping it is still in the affordable range.. We really left "no stone unturned" with this house.. We went in with the premise that we are going to be here for a long time so this place better damn well have everything we want.. (Including a beautifully designed tiled spa ensuite.. Can't wait to spend my wintery nights in that bathtub!)
Preparations for sale of the old house is currently under way.. We still need to get the garage cleaned out so we can sell off some of our crap before the move, and a wee bit of painting to freshen up the bathrooms. Should be listing the house in November or so?! Wow.. Gonna come quick.
