Welcome to Dunedin.

We have arrived in Dunedin and things are looking bright. This town is much larger then Queenstown so the job opportunities are much more realistic. We printed off new resumes today that focused more on restaurant and retail skills and headed out into the town for some applying. We both have applied to about 10 places.. Kirby is sticking more to book and clothing stores, meanwhile I am going more for gift stores and cafe's. The accomodation listings came out today and we were pleasently surprised by the amount of places to let.. Given the fact that we are looking for something furnished does disqualify a lot of the homes but we still have a choice of 3 3 bedroom places and serveral more 2 bedroom places ranging in price from $220-$395/wk which is a lot better then Queenstown rates where a 1 bedroom attic would set you back $280/wk (The place that is $395 is a large house with sea views on the pennisula and looks quite nice.. We also found out that having a job here is not a priority when renting a house so long as you pay the rent they are more focused on just getting a tenant into their homes... So thats great...) We tried calling the other 2 3 bedroom places today but no one was home so we will try again later.
Currently we are staying at the Chalet Backpackers.. It is an old brick house with a lot of character and a resident ghost that so far has been quite rude and has not come by to introduce himself..
The architecture here is amazing as the buildings are so old a beautiful.. Many old churches etc... we will get some photos on soon.
So heres hoping to some good luck and we will write if we come across any!

Good luck with the job hunt. Sounds like Dunedin is much more promising....looking forward to hearing some good news on the apartment/job front.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

PS - Only you, Krista, would be wishing for a ghost! haha! I was at the Banff Springs this week (with work; I didn't suddenly come into money!) and I kind of 'met' the bride-on-the-stairs ghost. Not fun! Hope you enjoy your haunts better than I did!! :-p
